i got my new computer last week. Its not hooked up yet. There is something wrong with either the monitor or the computer itself. When i hook it up, the monitor comes on and says there is no power going to the monitor and then it shuts off. I dunno why this is happening but i'm calling HP today to find out. I would've called sooner, but i have NO time off to do so.

Gas is retarded expensive.

i hate my job by the way but i'm damn sure using my dell discount.

So the computer i'm using right now has XP on it, but its an illegal copy. I found that out when took it to a repair shop a month ago. Its a refurbished(sp?) computer...when i was in the 7th grade, my parents found this black computer guy in the area(he has a listing in the black pages) so they went to him and got a computer...gone to him ever since. About 5 or 6 months ago my computer started acting up(low RAM) so i went to him and said...since you're fixing it up, might as well put XP on it. He did. Then i was getting blue screens. It would stay on for 10 minutes sometimes, then i'd get a blue screen. 5 minutes, blue screen. 2 hours, blue screen. Or just a freeze up. I went to him b/f x-mas, paid $160 to "fix it" and it worked for 2 days. After that, i said i'm not going back to him again. I've wasted too much money. So i went to the white ppl. They only charged me $40, and they told me that i'd basically been overpaying black guy for his shoddy work. He put an illegal verison of XP on my computer, he used cheap parts, and was over charging. After finding this out, i was pissed. how do you do your own ppl like that?!?

so never buying from another black computer guy again.

I need a new computer and the company that bought out my station has a program with dell where we get a discount for buying with them. I also get microsoft office for $20(i think it goes for $500)...buying that too.

Mar. 1st, 2008 @ 10:31 am Storybook season found spark in firefighter's lost life
Last weekend in Charleston, S.C., a bus carried the Summerville High basketball team to the state 4A semifinals. It also carried the memory of a man you've never heard of, a man who meant everything to the boys on that bus. His name was Louis Mulkey, and he was an assistant coach in football and basketball and, everyone says, life.

and last night Greenwave win state title

*this was my high school, i graduated in '04. I knew some of these kids and the head coach, but i didn't know who louis mulkey was until the night of the fire. I'm just really happy for these kids. They've probably had the worst year of their lives and to come away winning a state title.

*i can't remember if the espn article said who louis mulkey was, but he was one of the 9 firefighters killed in the charleston fire at the sofa super store as well as a teacher, and assistant coach.

Dec. 8th, 2007 @ 06:11 pm i want to tell you about a wonderful man...

Before today i was on the Edwards bandwagon, but after thinking long about it(and realizing he doesn't have the money or the media attention) i've decided that obama is the one person that could really knock hillary off. Nothing against sen. clinton...she just can't win.

I don't even agree w/ obama on all the issues, but knowing how important it is for a democrat to be in the white house is enough for me to support him.

last week:

It stalled in the senate. You can't take away some of the tax breaks from the poor oil companies!! What'll they do?!?

I really want jan. 09 here...3 years ago. Its the reason we need more democrats in congress and the white house. We'll just get more of the same otherwise.

Jun. 19th, 2006 @ 07:18 pm My ass is sore...well it will be sore soon
after my mechanic finishes raping me and my car.

today i spent about $180 to fix something that wasn't even the problem. The price is cheaper than what i thought it'd be, but i'm still getting it in the end. He overcharged me for "labor"(i know it only took him about an hour to do the thing with the thermostat(if that long)...and that didn't solve it. I bought two parts, that was about $30ish and "labor"=$105. Then i had to go back to the store and buy another part for the car(when i crank up, it sometimes skips or shuts off, and i have to crank it again...that part was another $31...free labor). And it still doesn't work. He thinks it might be the head gasket. He says its not cracked or broken, it just isnt working like it should be. Price for part and labor for the head gasket= *mumble mumble *&#*%@, *&@#!#%** he wouldn't say. He said he'd have to look through the book and see how much labor is involved with removing the gasket from the car and then look up the price for replacing it. He also has to start calling around to see if he can find the part that needs to be replaced, so he and my dad are going to be calling around tomorrow to get prices on a head gasket. It sucks. I don't have the money to pay for the part right now, but my mom will help me after she gets paid next week. I may also have to ask my sister for money. And if worst comes to worst, i'll work at the shit dept. in the fall in the morning.

i'm going to consolidate my student loan now.

Jun. 1st, 2006 @ 02:17 am Bobby Kennedy Jr. and WWIII
A damning and detailed feature article, written by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., for Rolling Stone and documenting evidence of the theft of the 2004 Presidential Election is set to hit newstands this Friday, The BRAD BLOG can now confirm. The online version of the article will be posted tomorrow (Thursday) morning.

The article -- headlined on the cover as "Did Bush Steal the 2004 Election?: How 350,000 Votes Disappeared in Ohio" -- has been several months in development and will contend that a concerted effort was undertaken by high-level Republican officials to steal the Election in Ohio -- and thus the country -- in 2004!

I love bobby kennedy jr. Mr. Enviornmentalist. He's just great.

it's time to know whether Iran is serious about negotiation or not.

Funny. Iran has been trying to talk with us for months now and we've given them the cold shoulder. This is fake diplomacy...which will lead to...WWIII

-She said that as soon as Iran agrees to suspend its uranium enrichment and reprocessing activities, Washington was willing to come to the table with Britain, France and Germany and meet with Iranian representatives.

Which we already know Iran isn't giving up its nu-cl-ea-r program b/c they've said for months that they aren't giving it up.

-Pressure has been building on the Bush administration to accept some sort of contact, as American and Europeans have struggled in recent weeks to find an approach that would win agreement from Russia and China, which are wary of imposing sanctions.

China and Russia are backing Iran on this, and they're against imposing any type of sanctions on Iran which the U.S. Gov't wants to have China and Russia agreeing to the sanctions(which they refuse to do).

This is like the fake...LOOK AT ME...I'M DIPLOMATIC...right before we nuke iran. Just like with iraq, they'll say...well we tried to be diplomatic...when in reality, we kicked out Hans Blix before he could finish searching for the WMD's we claimed to be there.

Completly unrelated to all of that...

Iran is quietly restructuring its military in anticipation of a U.S. invasion, the Washington Times reported on Wednesday. The report said Iran is focusing on "irregular warfare carried out by highly mobile army units" - an Iraqi-style guerrilla campaign, in other words

Sep. 2nd, 2005 @ 10:02 am So...
its been a couple of days since i wrote in this...so now i am.

I've been posting on my myspace page the past few days about the hurricane and i was suprised at how many of my friends supported bush before the hurricane and still support him after he dropped the ball(which is continuing to roll Yeah Right ). This has to get us out of iraq. We are spending way too much money there and we can't support our own people. ***And now they are saying the president may not even land in new orleans because its not safe. Fuck that. Those people who voted for him should really really really feel good about themselves now. They elected an incompetent man as our leader. They thought they'd feel safer w/ this man instead of a war veteran(b/c, as my friend put it, kerry is a pussy...the war vet a pussy). It looks like a third world country down there.

I'm so sick of hearing bush's shit. If you really cared about these people, you would've gotten them out of there sooner...the airports were closed saturday when they issued the evacuation! We could've gotten these people out! Its been 4 fucking days and people are still there!

You do realize that if this had been a terrorist attack, we'd be screwed. We don't have enough natl. guard in new orleans to help, we don't have the money to help, and the president waited until after this thing hit to come back from his vacation 2 days sooner than expected(b/c he didn't hear about the big cat. 5 that was headed straight from new orleans over the weekend). I'm done.

Its sorta funny because all of my classes are in the same room all day long...i may not even leave my seat. I need to buy my books soon though. That may wait until day 1 though...or day 2...depending on my mood.

and i saw my first attempted bank robbery today. I wasn't inside(i was actually maybe 40 feet from 5 police officers w/ guns drawn and ready to fire and the idiots who actually thought they could get away w/ it), but i saw enough. NOTE TO ANY IDIOTS WHO TRY TO ROB A BANK...DON'T DO IT! What was funny/scary to me were the amount of cops around when it happend who were yelling GET OUT THE CAR W/ YOUR HANDS UP at the guys even when they were out of the car and on the ground.

Aug. 10th, 2005 @ 12:27 am Just an update...
i have to call the people tomorrow and have them reset my test. I have my screen set at the largest thing...640X something(i told y'all i can't see!) and none of what it was asking for was showing. I'm not sure that was the problem, but i'm guessing it was. Do-over. I'm just ready to leave that store. I will admit...after taking the first two sections of this test, i feel out of place. EVERYTHING is over my head. I've never had to deal w/ call center stuff before.

Aug. 9th, 2005 @ 04:21 pm Ever feel OUT OF PLACE
I went to the job fair thingy for Direct TV/First Contact today. WOW!

They were looking for people w/ call center/call back experience. I have neither, but i faked it. Yes i did. I said that i was responsible for answering calls from customers and calling back customers on any transactions they made(anything for a job i suppose). I have to take a test online, and then go back on the 29th to talk to this lady named lisa(tooth pick lady) after i take the tests. They never said if i should put a notice into my job or what, so i'm lost. I'd hate to put notice in and then not get the job. The two people i talked to had experience working in call centers. One of them handled collection type things, and she also did door-to-door sales(which i will never do...ever!), and the other guy has a bachelors degree in something, but hasn't used it(instead, he's been working at a restuaraant, and as a landscaper). The job pays 12.50 an hour(base pay is actually 8.50 an hour, but if you are on time and attend everyday, pay is 12.50 an hour) with possibility of making 14.50-18.00 an hour depending on performance for 40 hours a week. Then i work every other saturdays. from 11-8. and sundays from 11-5(nobody stays until 5 though).

It sounds like a really good job. All i do is call people and ask how their service is, and if they're happy with everything. Thats it. IF YOU HAVEN'T NOTICED, I'M REALLY REALLY REALLY TRYING TO GET OUT OF THE SHOE DEPT. ANYPLACE IS BETTER THAN THERE I'm probably the only person w/o call center experience. The other people there w/ call center experience only did it for 4 months. there 4 months and my none are about even. Right??

Finding that place was a bitch tho'! Its in between the first federal corporate building and something and its on the inside of an office building w/o signs or anything. I was just walking and guessing. I saw my old neighbor out there too(anytime there is a job fair or job anything, i always see him).

Jul. 20th, 2005 @ 02:25 am I had a rough day
It actually started last night at work when the A/C went down. You know how it never gets below 85 at nights here + the humidity...= me not wanting to spend more time in that store than need be. So i left at 9:15 with the intentions of getting up early and fixing it up so more...did that. Then took my car down to Radio Shack to get my cd player put back in(the factory one killed my jay-z cd and wouldn't let me play any CD-R's). Well, in the time it took that to be put in, i could have come home, baked a cake, fried some chicked, baked some pies and made my own icing for the cake. 6 hours! for a damned cd player. I should know not to go there b/c everytime i do, they tell me it'll be $45.00+$14.00+19.00+some other made up service my car actually doesn't need BUT they feel the need to do it. So it came out to $105.00. I pay it...get in my car and leave. This is where shit gets sour...I'm driving down the highway and i notice i can't get higher than 40 mph, and if i do, the car shakes. Now i'm getting nervous b/c it won't stop shaking(and then i start praying to some figurehead). It didn't stop. Got to the stop light by my school...and start smelling this funny smell...the first thing that popped into my mind was brake fluid leak b/c my brakes STOPPED WORKING on me right at that moment, not to mention the car in front of me and his/her erratic driving was pissing me off too. All this is going on w/ my car, and i don't have my cell phone. I knew this would happen. My aunt jinxed me. She told us about the time she got rear-ended in the snow and forgot her phone at home so she couldn't call the police, and the guy who hit her took off. Jinx. I freaked out so much i had to call my dad...on a pay phone! I'm too good for those. Seriously! He came out and turns out...the guy from radio shack decided to put my emergency brake on, so that funny smell was my brake pad melting...that'll cost some money. I didn't check out the stupid thing b/c i don't use it and i didn't expect he would either(since i wasn't parked on a hill or anything...really, who uses that just to park a car??). The only good news out of it is that i got my player back.

my advisor did try to call me yesterday. I e-mailed him today, and he said he tried and my phone wasn't on(it was...i may have given him the wrong number b/c i'm "special" like that...also, many people who get my number often call and get a white woman named sandra on my voicemail...i don't know why). So we are trying to work something out at my job so that i can have 40 minutes on tuesday to go to meet him.

broke it again. Damn!

I went to school today. Changed the major(finally). I thought i'd get to talk to someone in an office or something, but no. I got the shaft. A guy came up to me and said "here you go. This is your new advisor's name and his phone number and good luck. Oh, did you ever meet w/ Mario(my old advisor)? *chuckle* He's a great guy. Me=lost. So i left my new advisor/someone who will just ignore me much like the last guy did and never return my phone calls and such, a voicemail, but my friends say i should just go ahead and e-mail him since they never return your calls.
